Our audiovisual corporation in Catalonia has been producing quality radio and television in Catalan for over 40 years, mainly through CatRàdio and TV3, the country's leading referential brands.
Along our history we have been accountable for thousands of programmes, films, series, documentaries, children's entertainment and audiovisual content of all kinds, having received several local and international accolades.
In 2003 we took a step forward and launched a digital platform which consolidates the large 3Cat offering of audiovisual content in the Catalan language, its success having exceeded all the expectations after the first three months.

The audiovisual sector is enjoying one of its best times in history. 4,000 firms are involved in the business, grossing a total of over 7.5 million Euros and employing more than 37,000 people.
3Cat is the main audiovisual engine in Catalonia due to its large production capacity and to the fact that innovation and creativity are the team's main aim, upon which a solid and competitive enterprise has been built.
In 2023 we produced or coproduced over forty audiovisual works, ranging from documentaries to fiction and animation, either films or TV programmes. Most of them were shown in the main TV channels and cinemas.
The commitment with the industry is to keep promoting innovative projects of a universal interest, aimed at audiences of all ages, be them local or from abroad.
Agreements with production companies have provided financial support and broadcasting outlets for hundreds of projects, having proved essential in order to consolidate a powerful audiovisual sector international nowadays.
3Cat leads the audiovisual market in Catalonia, acting as a reference point.
During 14 consecutive years, TV3, the main TV channel of 3Cat, has by far enjoyed the largest Catalan audiences with a 14% share. The second best qualified ranging 5.1 points below.
CatRàdio, its main radio broadcasting station and podcast leader, has also been most popular given its innovation and creative nature.
As far as the digital platform is concerned, during the early months of its launching, 900,000 users had registered, 2.5 million single devices connected and 100 million ongoing reproductions, thus ranking among the top ones.
3Cat has been consistently earning success and accolades. In the field of fiction, productions such as Polseres vermelles (Red bracelets), Merlí or Nit i dia (Night and day) and more recently Això no és Suècia (This is not Sweden) have reached outstanding placings both in TV programmes and platforms of Italy, France, Germany, USA or Latin America. The format of Polseres Vermelles has been adapted in over seven countries and languages and Merlí, with a French and an Italian version, has been screened in televisions of over 20 countries.
Many of our fiction and documentary productions are featured in SVOD platforms available in Spain. Amazon Prime, Filmin, HBO MAX, Netflix and Movistar offer their subscribers a wide range of 3Cat productions, both in the Catalan and Spanish languages. Notably in recent times Crims (Crimes), a true-crime 4-season documentary series, has reached millionaire audiences and can be seen in Movistar, Netflix and 3Cat.
Our wide range of non-fiction documentaries is also worth mentioning, having received uncountable awards at home and abroad, and some have been selected by prestigious channels such as the BBC (UK), ARTE (France and Germany), Yle (Finland) and SVT (Sweden).
As far as animation goes, our coproduction participation is present in a large range of countries such as Canada, Finland, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Colombia and Argentina.
Innovation and creativity present in the sustained, accurate efforts of our local teams has resulted in international acknowledgement. In 2023, 3Cat productions have earned accolades in our country as well as abroad.
The fiction series Això no és Suècia, obtained the Prix Europa 2023, and was finalist for the Premios Feroz as the best comedy series.
Unzué, el último equipo del Juancar, was awarded the Premio Ondas to the best documentary.

It's 3Cat contention to be an active part of the European culture, thus contributing to its wealth. Hence our productions intend to reach other cultures with the aim of bringing a new outlook. Això no és Suècia is a case in point, where SVT (Swedish public TV), NDR (German regional TV) and Yle (Finnish public TV) participated.
