A TV3 Series Lands in the U.S.
TV3-Televisió de Catalunya's series "Polseres Vermelles" has reaffirmed its success on the international stage and will be produced under the title "The Red Band Society," by ABC Studios and Ambiln TV (Steven Spielberg) for the Fox channel.
This is the first time a Catalan or Spanish series will have its own remake on a major U .S. broadcast network, which is a clear reflection of the Catalan audiovisual industry's high standards and testimony to TV3's accomplished thirty years of experience in producing drama series and soap operas.
The series, created by Albert Espinosa and Pau Freixas, and produced by Filmax for TV3, has already been sold to various countries, either through direct licensing or as a format.
Italy's RAI-1 produced the format under the title "Bracialetti Rossi," France's channel 23 broadcast the original Catalan version, and this version was also acquired by Vme-U.S., Finland, Sweden and Argentina. The format was sold to Germany, Russia, Chile, Poland and Peru.
