3Cat is Catalonia’s public media corporation with a reputation for excellence in producing and broadcasting audiovisual content in Catalan. With a track record of more than 40 years, it is an industry leader due to its crosscutting offering that integrates television, radio and digital content on our 3Cat platform.
Throughout our history, we have created thousands of high-quality productions —shows, series, documentaries, films and children’s content— many of which have won national and international awards. This constant commitment to innovation and creativity has established us as a key player on the European audiovisual scene.
In 2025 3Cat made more than 160 new productions, including documentaries, fiction, entertainment and animation programmes, many of which premiered on major TV channels and in cinemas. This figure is twice the number of productions in 2024, which reaffirms our commitment to the growth of the industry.
Successes such as Polseres vermelles (adapted in more than seven countries) and Merlí (with versions in France and Italy) have consolidated our global reach. And we are continuing to win awards and recognition beyond our borders. Recent examples include: finalist in the Emmy Awards 2025 for one of our soap operas, Com si fos ahir, and three TM Broadcast 2025 awards for innovation and artificial intelligence-related tech implementation projects. Other notable awards received in previous years include the International Emmy 2024 for best short-form documentary series for Punt de no retorn, the Prix Europa 2023 for best fiction series for Això no és Suècia, and the documentary Unzué, el último equipo del Juancar, which won an award at Premios Ondas 2023.

3Cat is the leading media group in the audiovisual market in Catalonia. For 16 consecutive years, 3Cat’s main television channel (TV3) has been by far the most-watched channel in Catalonia with a 14.2% share, way ahead of the second-placed channel, which is 5 points behind, despite being a national channel, according to Kantar Media. TV3 was the best-rated general-interest channel in 2025, for the 16th consecutive year, with a qualitative rating of 8.3 according to GfK.
It also stands out in radio, where its main station, Catalunya Ràdio, ended 2025 with the highest number of listeners in its history: 680,000 people listened to Catalunya Ràdio every day of the year, according to the General Media Study (EGM). It is a leader in podcasts and, for years, has been the top radio station due to its great capacity for innovation and creativity.
The 3Cat digital platform has 1.6 million registered users and achieved 240 million plays in 2025, making it the third most-chosen platform by Catalans, behind Prime Video and Netflix.
The total number of plays in the 3Cat environment as a whole was also spectacular, exceeding 305 million.
3Cat continues to be a leading news provider in Catalonia, due to the professionalism that has always characterised it as a quality public service. It also innovates and evolves to respond to new ways of consuming news, creating the 3CatInfo ecosystem that aggregates its entire news offering.
