Based on real events. Berlin, 1944. World War II is raging. Charlie Rivel has been performing in the German capital for three years, forced to work out his contract with the Berlin theaters. He's a great success and the Nazi regime just love him. In 1944, during one of his performances, Gestapo agent Krauss "invites" him to perform at the Führer's birthday party.
The situation grows tenser when Krauss decides he wants to perform with Charlie Rivel, but so does someone who is planning an attack that could change the course of the war. Charlie Rivel and his stage companion, Witzi, are forced to accept the proposal.
